Charanga was partially acquired by the Wise Music Group (formally the Music Sales Group) in 2011.

Wise Music is an international family of companies with interests in four main areas: music publishing, book publishing, digital education and record labels.

Charanga benefits from access to the group’s operational, legal and business support and, importantly, unfettered access to its extensive copyrights and authentic recordings – many of them iconic.

While a proud member of the group, and with valued input from Wise Music directors on its board, Charanga retains its particular independent culture and continues to be led by its founders, Mark Burke and Paul Fletcher, who remain major shareholders in the company.
